Not gonna lie, the food is pretty mediocre. But when you're in midtown east, ALL the food is mediocre unless you feel like paying a premium- especially when you're in the Park Ave/Lexington neighborhood. And sorry David Burke, I'm sure your "burkey" is phenomenal but I didn't feel like paying twenty bucks or wasting my entire lunch break waiting for my overpriced food at your crowded Bloomingdale's restaurant, so I ventured onwards. The good thing about Green Cafe is that for the quality of food you're getting the prices are fair. $5.99 for a burger + fries + can of soda is a definite bargain around here, and anywhere in Manhattan really (even cheaper than the street meat halal carts or McDonald's!) Slap on fifty cents for cheese then add tax and it's still only seven bucks. It wasn't a phenomenal burger by any means; the patty was a bit on the thin side and if I hadn't *insisted* that it'd be cooked medium and not medium well it probably would have been way overcooked. The lettuce was also shredded, and everyone knows shredded lettuce on a burger just falls out of the bun all over the place with every bite. But the fries were good and the tomato slice was extra plump and fresh. And yes, the bun actually had sesame seeds on it. Hooray for that! Also, for some reason the guy knew *exactly* how many packets of ketchup to pack. Four packets turned out to be the exact amount needed. Plus he also threw in some mayo and a fork, which I didn't need but hey, free stuff is always awesome. When the guy behind the counter gave me my food, he put the plastic bag around my wrist when I reached out for it instead of just handing it to me, which I thought was a nice surprise. I'll probably be back soon.

This is kind of a no frills place that we came to for a quick breakfast. I imagine they have a quick lunch as well since you just choose what you would like, order it, pay for it, and then pick up your food. The coffee drinks are not bad, and they have soy milk! Hash browns and turkey bacon were pretty tasty!

Better than I expected. Great place for a quick bite. This place offers fresh made to order salads, made to order burgers and fresh per packaged sandwiches. I chose the Salmon burger which was freshly made, simple and tasty. I recommend it if you want to try something new.

Ugh, this place should be closed down for price gauging, terrible food and mold. Their chicken cordon Bleu is nothing more than chicken parmigian with a piece of ham on it. And they don't even cook it, They microwave it! Tastes like crap. Hard to chew, and at 7.50, over priced as well. Then they charge $2 for a can of soda. Grab a table and look up and you'll be greeted by cobwebs, water damage and multi colored mold. Avoid at all costs. The unregulated food cart guy is better all around, than this place.

I needed a quick bite to eat and a cup of tea, so I came in here because it was the first cafe I saw at my current location. I ordered the turkey panini and a cup of green tea. The panini was nothing special other than being food to fill me up, which was all that was needed at the time. I didn't experience any satisfaction because the panini was still cold (even after being "warmed") and lifeless. My bf ordered a cup of green tea too and they decided to give him the wrong tea. I wouldn't come here again unless I was once again in the area and in a quest for a quick bite to eat.

Went here on a Saturday morning for breakfast. This is a healthy food kind of place and it's pretty good. Lots of ingredients from which they build sandwiches, wraps, salads, and more. They also do breakfast, with lots of omelet choices that looked pretty darn good. Staff was friendly and quick. There is seating upstairs that is pretty comfortable, along with another food service area.

I used to go to Green Cafe atleast twice a week to grab lunch from work. And one day while standing in the line I noticed few flies in the dessert section and soon saw that all the strawberries were spoilt and rotting. As soon as I told them about the rotting strawberries they did apologise and threw it away. All I can hope is that they checked all other dessers too. Also expected that they would not charge me for my lunch, but that didnt happen. I would definitely avoid all desserts there. Well for me I am just going to avoid it altogether.

Good breakfast. Looked funny but tasted good. They sure know how to butter a slice of toast!

Only had breakfast there once when I had to go to the other office but it was acceptable. Got bacon and eggs and the eggs were cooked correctly and the bacon wasn't under-cooked. It did seem a little chaotic in there but it was busy in the morning. Service was friendly, always a plus!

Given the sub-par reviews, I only decided to give this place a try because they offered a 20% discount on seamless. I was pleasantly surprised. The falafel sandwich was very good, the soup was good as well (although they get points off not taking out bay leaves before service). I will admit they need to work on their food service presentation, because the hot items that were on display did not look appetizing at all. I will come here again.

While walking around New York in the ball-shrinkingly cold weather this past weekend, the family and I sauntered into this particular Green Cafe for some sustenance. My first impression was this place is pure New York: cramped, slightly dingy, and with a bizarre mix of ethnicities represented on the menu. Being the unadventurous types, most of the people in my party ordered cheeseburgers, but I'm of the opinion that going to a vibrant multicultural city like New York and ordering a cheeseburger is like traveling to Beijing and eating at McDonald's. So, I ordered the falafel pita. The falafel was excellent. It was well-spiced and full of flavor. However, toward the end of the pita I encountered some sort of sauce that had a truly horrifying texture. It was, for some reason I shudder to contemplate, grainy. Of all the consistencies I expect from sauces in my sandwiches, "grainy" is probably the least appetizing, after perhaps "spoogy". Having encountered such a monstrosity, I was unable to complete my meal. The bathrooms in this place are filthy, with a truly epic selection of offensive graffiti therein. From what I can tell, there's a tradition in this place that states people using the restroom should piss as much as possible directly on the seat. If you are a female or have to take a crap, my advice is to go outside and squat on a sewer grate, because the bathrooms here are completely unsuitable for those purposes. On the other hand, the universal consensus was that the cheeseburgers were excellent.

I tried this place one evening when the choice was between it and Subway. I had a mozzarella panini. It was pretty good - loads of cheese, although it wasn't entirely melted. The place offers a wide range of sandwiches, although my general sense was that what you saw on display was what they had. The sandwich came with chips and salsa, which seemed a little strange. All in all, an OK place in a pinch.

GROSS. I went in here around 6pm looking for a snack. I settled on soup because it seemed like the most appealing option, even though most of the soup pots had crusty burned-on soup going up the walls (the one I chose did not). There were three or four employees milling around, but it took forever to get rung up even though there were only two other people (who were paying together) waiting to be rung up. The couple ahead of me tried to order coffee, and the woman who was apparently supposed to be ringing them up as well as making the coffee was wandering back & forth really slowly trying to ask her co-workers something. When I finally paid for my soup after what felt like 10 minutes, I wandered over to the seating section of the store and it just looked so ill-kept and dirty--stuff spilled on the floor and tables, old napkins laying around, crumbs--that I threw the soup away and just left. I hate wasting food and money, but the generally unkempt nature of the place made me worry I might get food poisoning or something.

Curry chicken wrap was ok. A bit too sweet and not enough veggies.

This place is conveniently located near the 4,5,6 at 59th, so I have occasionally gone there, but I never really have a great experience. They take forever (10 min) to prepare breakfast orders, the portions are skimpy, and they nickel and dime you (so for example, a Western omelette which is advertised at $3.50 ends up costing $5.00 because you came in at 11:02 and there's an arbitrary surcharge after 11). The food (breakfast and otherwise) is only mediocre and I don't feel that you get great value. I will be avoiding this place from now on.

Ehhh. So many better places around. The falafel pita was OK at best and the cappuccino was one of the worst I have had. Simply avoid this place for better food if u can. Def do not stop in for coffee. Gross.

Really good lentil soup. If you eat upstairs and look out across 60th you may get lucky and see on the second floor, the brides trying on dresses (I have 2 daughters).

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
